Friends (FSHCT) visit Itchingfield & Billingshurst in April 2017

The Friends of the Sussex Historic Churches Trust will be visiting St Nicholas, Itchingfield, and Billingshurst Unitarian Church on Saturday 22 April 2017 (2.00pm at Itchingfield; 3.30pm at Billingshurst).

St Nicholas, Itchingfield

Apart from the 13th century St Nicholas’s has fabric of all medieval periods, a
chancel of 1713 and a modern south aisle by G G Scott; there is a wooden west tower
and a late-medieval priest’s house (later an almshouse) in the churchyard. The flora of
the churchyard has recently been recorded, and it is hoped to give a brief account of

Billingshurst Unitarian

Billingshurst Unitarian dates from 1754, when it was a General Baptist chapel.
In the recent past both places of worship have been in receipt of Trust grants.
Tea will be provided at Billingshurst.
