Online Grant Application Form

The Sussex Historic Churches Trust awards grants to assist places of worship of all faiths within East and West Sussex. Grants are confined to works of essential repair to the fabric of the church building which must be at least 100 years old.

 

The Trust meets twice a year, in Spring and Autumn; the dates for 2025 are April 7 and September 12. Please ensure you submit applications well before you begin work and as soon as your architect has been appointed and a builder's estimate accepted.


Guidance notes and required documents

Please also ensure you have all required documents available in digital format (eg jpg, PDF) ready to upload. These should include:

  • the latest set of accounts

  • a copy of faculty or equivalent authorization for other denomination

  • photographs showing general view of the church, externally and internally

  • your architect’s/surveyor’s letter confirming a) the need for work and urgency b) Tender costs obtained based on specifications and drawings.

How to save the form and continue later

Important:

Alternatively, you can keep the form open on the Trust website which will enable you to amend it further before submission.

The SAVE option will also enable you to share the form with your architect/surveyor as they are also required to sign it. Sinply forward the Jotform link to your architect/surveyor.

Once you have pressed SUBMIT at the end of the form, a prompt will appear to confirm use of an electonric signature. Jotform will then email you a copy of the the information you have provided.
