Individuals who have gone above and beyond for Sussex Historic Churches Trust Ride + Stride fundraising Ride + Stride Heroes Ride + Stride Heroes are those churches or other places of worship that really excelled in last year's fundraising drive. So many many thanks to the Ride + Stride Heroes of 2024! This year Ride + Stride is taking place on Saturday, September 13 from 9am to 5pm. Our goal is to have 200+ places of worship take part in 2025. Tribute to Robert Longmore Ride + Stride fundraisers on behalf of St Bartholomew's Egdean in West Sussex will be honouring one of the county’s most prolific Ride-and-Striders this September. Robert Longmore, who died in April aged 99, helped raised thousands of pounds for St Bartholomew's and the Sussex Historic Churches Trust during a highly productive 15-year tenure as local organiser. Colin and Mark managed to visit some 30 churches in the area, starting out at St Leonard’s Church in South Stoke. Half the money will go to St Leonard's and half to the Sussex Historic Churches Trust. Their JustGiving page is here . Many thanks to Martin Wood who DOUBLED his target in 2024 to raise £1,000 by cycling the byways of Sussex to visit as many churches as possible.
