Online Grant Application Form for churches seeking support for urgent repair & restoration from the Sussex Historic Churches Trust Online Grant Application Form The Sussex Historic Churches Trust awards grants to assist places of worship of all faiths within East and West Sussex. Grants are confined to works of essential repair to the fabric of the church building which must be at least 100 years old. The Trust meets twice a year, in Spring and Autumn; the dates for 2026 are April 10 and September 18. The deadline for submitting applications is two weeks before each meeting. Please ensure you submit applications well before you begin work and as soon as your architect has been appointed and a builder's estimate accepted. Guidance notes and required documents Please download our comprehensive guidance notes before filling out the online Grant Application Form below. Please also ensure you have all required documents available in digital format (eg jpg, PDF) ready to upload. These should include: the latest set of accounts a copy of faculty or equivalent authorization for other denomination photographs showing general view of the church, externally and internally your architect’s/surveyor’s letter confirming a) the need for work and urgency b) Tender costs obtained based on specifications and drawings.
