Information on donations for the Sussex Historic Churches Trust Donations & Bequests Help preserve our historic churches for the next generation Many historic churches, chapels and places of worship are battling to survive. Roofs leak, ancient timbers rot and medieval stonework crumbles. The Sussex Historic Churches Trust is supported entirely by fund-raising, donations and legacies. The more money the Trust receives, the more help it can give! Each year Grants are awarded to churches and chapels of historic and architectural interest. The Trust has already assisted more than 500 churches and places of worship throughout Sussex since it launched in 1956. In 2024 alone, £103,000 was awarded to 14 historic places of worship. We need your support so we can continue awarding grants for essential repairs and restoration of places of worship of architectural or historic interest throughout Sussex. Below are some of the ways in which you can support us. Our main fundraising venture is the annual, national Ride + Stride scheme. For more details, click here or image below. Donations We have partnered with Just Giving so that you can easily donate with either a one-off or regular gift. If you can, please select Gift Aid whenever you are donating to us. We can reclaim 25p for every £1 donated - helping to make your donation go even further. Ride & Stride Our sponsored Ride + Stride event is a fantastic day out which helps raise vital funds to help our historic buildings.
